11:01 AMWelcome! I'm Maxine and I currently live in Belgium. I've decided to start a blog because I've been searching for something to devote my time to for a while. A blog may not be the ideal creative outlet for everyone, but for someone who spends a lot of time on the computer anyway; why not? So I'm taking this first post to introduce myself.
Firstly, I am a nerd in every sense of the word and proud of it. There isn't a time or place where I wouldn't be willing to talk about my favorite book, movie or TV show with those who are willing to listen. Fictional words fascinate me. I have an immense love for books, sci-fi and dystopian ones specifically.
Ever since I got over my fear of dogs when i was six, I've loved animals. And recently, marine animals have become ridiculously intriguing to me. Say aquarium or zoo and I'll be there in a heartbeat.
If you read my header, allow me to explain why I chose to put the phrase "You can choose." below my name. I am a strong believer that you control your own happiness, that others do not dictate how you feel, and that you have the right to do whatever you want in life. It applies to so many things. If something bad happens, you can choose to feel sad about it or learn from it. You embarrass yourself? You can choose to get over it or not. No matter what situation you're in, you can always choose. So keep that in mind.
