If you look to your left, in the "Meet Maxine" sidebar, you'll see I've listed myself as a DIY junkie. That is no understatement. Partially have to thank my mom for this knack that I have. She's a "make-it-youself" kind of gal, and thank goodness I didn't get my artistic skill from my dad.
My current obsession of nautical paintings is this four canvas set by Etsy shop Color On the Walls. Talk about cute!
I really love the way that a good painted canvas looks in a room. Currently I have four and soon to be eight hanging on my walls. It's an obsession, I know. The two main places I get inspiration for my art are Etsy and Pinterest. Etsy is great because it's a place filled with handmade things that are often easily recreated. Pinterest is a little more difficult because some of the boards may be called DIY or Crafts, but lets be honest, I don't plan on making my on bookshelf out of crates any time soon. I'm always drawn to a certain theme of painting: the ocean.

Here is my Lilly Pulitzer sailboat print inspired painting (topped of with a sweet monogram). Pretty close right? For the closest replication I looked up other paintings that people had done of this print. The number or sorority paddles painted like this are unlimited so, it wasn't hard for this one.

So from your research you just pick and choose what you want to put into yours! Next, I recreated a Pinterest favorite: the three piece whale.
Hands down the easiest to make and it just looks so clean! Inspiration for this one was easy to come across, it's all over Pinterest;
